This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) is effective May 24, 2018 by and between West Liberty Foods, L.L.C., an Iowa limited liability company, and you, an end user of our services.  Throughout this Policy, West Liberty Foods, L.L.C. may be referred to as “WLF”, “we”, “us”, or “our.”  You, as the end user, may be referred to as “you” or “your.”

1. Purpose

This Policy is designed to help you understand how we collect and disseminate information on our web sites or our authorized online social media pages and ways you may protect your privacy.  Our web sites and authorized online social media pages include FACEBOOK, LINKEDIN, YOUTUBE, or TWITTER (collectively, the “Site(s)”.  By using our Site(s), you consent to our collection, use, and dissemination of any information you provide as described in this Policy.

2. Personally Identifiable Information

Our Site(s) collect personally identifiable information (“PII”) as outlined in this Policy.  PII includes information linked to a specific individual.  For example, your name, address, phone number, or email address are considered PII.

3. Information Collected

The type and amount of information that we collect, including PII, varies depending on how you use our Site(s).  Most of the information collected is open and obvious.  For example, when you apply for a job using our Site(s) or when you visit the Contact Us section of our Site(s), you are prompted to enter PII.  However, we also collect PII when you access our Site(s), when you report a problem about our Site(s) or services, when you respond to a request for information, and when you request to receive communications from WLF.  The information we collect includes the following:

3.1 Contact Information:

We may request or require contact information, such as your name, address, phone number, fax number, and email address.

3.2 Demographic Information:

As part of our job application process, internal or external advertisements, or to improve access to and quality of our Site(s), we collect demographic information.

3.3 Technical Information:

We collect Internet Protocol (IP) addresses and the date and time of access from all users of our Site(s).  We also catalog such information and maintain aggregated information about the transactions on our Site(s) to monitor use and provide better services.

4. Use of Information

Generally, we do not use your information to make automated decisions.  However, we collect, disseminate, and use your information in the following ways:

4.1 Contact Information:

We may use your contact information to facilitate communication with you, collect surveys about our services, provide targeted advertising from us and third parties, respond to issues or problems with our services, monitor use of our Site(s) and services, improve access to our Site(s) and services, and allow you to apply for jobs throughout our Site(s).  We may also share your contact information with affiliates, subsidiaries, and business partners as necessary to facilitate job applications through our Career center, for advertising purposes, or business purposes.  For example, our Career center is powered by CARERRBUILDER LLC and any information provided during the job application process will be shared with that company.  Except as described in this Policy or as ordered by a court or governmental agency or as otherwise required by law, we do not share or disclosure your contact information.

4.2 Demographic Information:

We may share demographic data on an aggregated basis, which will not identify any particular user, with our business partners, vendors, and affiliates or government regulators and for advertising purposes.

4.3 Survey Results:

We may share survey results collected through the Site(s) with our business partners, vendors, and affiliates and/or the general public, the news media, and with the U.S. Government and state governments, not only for business or marketing purposes or as may be required by law, but also to participate in government programs and initiatives.

4.5 Technical Information:

We may use technical information to help resolve any problems with our servers and otherwise manage and monitor our Site(s) and use of our services.

4.6 Business Transactions:

In the event that WLF is involved in a merger or acquisition with another company involving the sale of all or a portion of its assets, the PII collected and retained by WLF may be among the assets transferred.  In the event a transaction of this kind occurs that results in the transfer of PII, we will notify you via email and/or place a prominent notice on the Site(s) for 30 days of any such change in ownership or control and the possible changes to this Policy.

4.7 Legal Action:

WLF may disclose PII when legally required to do so to comply with legal requests or other applicable laws or regulations. We may also disclose PII to protect against misuse or unauthorized use of the Site(s) or as is otherwise required to limit legal liability, protect or defend our rights, property, or interests, or protect the safety, rights, or property of our users.

5. Use of Cookies

We use cookies to enhance your experience while using our Site(s).  Cookies are very small text files that are stored on your computer when you visit some websites.  We use a combination of session cookies and persistent cookies in order to track how you use and experience our website, build statistical data about how our website is performing, and to personalize content to you.  If you would prefer not to receive cookies, you can change your browser to refuse or delete cookies.  Please note that our Site(s) may not function properly without the use of cookies including the ability to maintain your preferences and contact information.

6. External or Third Party Web Sites

To the extent hyperlinks or gateways (whether through banner advertisements or otherwise) are utilized to access external or third party sites or social media pages, those external or third party sites or pages are not controlled by us and, therefore, are not subject to this Policy.  You should review those site or pages to determine your privacy rights.

7. Security

WLF uses industry standard security measures or safeguards to protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under our control including any PII.  Whenever we collect sensitive information, that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way.  You can verify this by looking for a lock icon in the address bar near the “https” at the beginning of the address of the web page.  While we use encryption to protect sensitive information collected online, we also protect your information offline including limiting access based on business need and maintaining computers and servers in a secure environment.  However, please note that the confidentiality of any communication or material provided to us cannot be guaranteed.

8. "Opting-Out" of Data Collection and Use

You have the option to refuse to provide PII to us by refusing (when requested) to provide information in response to prompts from WLF.   You also have the right to opt out of inclusion in mailings, email communications, or newsletters.

9. Correcting, Deleting, or Updating Information

We will retain your PII for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose(s) for which it was collected and to comply with applicable laws.  At any time, you may contact us to correct, modify, or delete the information you provide to us through our Site(s).  Please note that a request to delete your data will be permanent and we may lose the ability to contact you.  To request correction or deletion of your PII, please contact us at joshua.wold@wlfoods.com.

10. Transfer of Information Outside the European Union

WLF is a company based West Liberty, Iowa in the United States.  All of our facilities, affiliates, vendors, and third party providers are primarily located in the United States.  Please note that if you are accessing our Site(s) from the European Union (‘EU”), it is likely that your information will leave the EU for use in the United States as described in this Policy.  If PII of EU residents is transferred or processed outside the European Economic Area, we will take all necessary steps to maintain the security of such PII.

11. Children’s Privacy

Although the Site(s) is suitable for a general audience, the Site(s) is intended for use only by users who are over 18 years of age or the legal age of majority.  Accordingly, WLF does not knowingly solicit PII from children or send them requests for personal information.

12. California Residents

13. Changes
